Elon Musk Launches Bad-smelling Perfume That Accepts Payments in Bitcoin, Ethereum, Dogecoin, and Other Altcoins
Elon Musk is adding a quirky new product to his company's catalog of goods and services that can be paid for with cryptocurrency.
The billionaire's tunnel startup, Boring Company, has just launched a fragrance called Burnt Hair, which Musk describes as "the best perfume in the world".
“With a name like me, getting into the perfume business is inevitable. Why did I resist it for so long!? "
Musk said his company accepts $100 for perfume in Dogecoin (DOGE). The world's richest man is an ardent supporter of the dog-inspired token, preferring it to leading cryptocurrency Bitcoin (BTC). In an interview with Bloomberg News in June, he said that he promotes the coin meme because people who are "not too rich" encourage him to buy and support crypto assets.
"And you can pay with Doge!"
Buyers can also pay using BitPay crypto payment platform, which supports Bitcoin, Ethereum (ETH), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Wrapped Bitcoin (WBTC), ApeCoin (APE), Litecoin (LTC), Dogecoin, Shiba Inu (SHIB), Euro Coin (EUROC) and dollar-pegged stablecoins Gemini Dollar (GUSD), USD Coin (USDC), Pax Dollar (USDP), DAI and Binance USD (BUSD).
The scent will ship in the first quarter of 2023, but Musk said the fragrance has already sold 10,000 bottles.
