Potential Monday Launch of Numerous Ethereum Futures Exchange-Traded Funds, as Suggested by Bloomberg ETF Analyst

A Bloomberg ETF Analyst Forecasts a Surge in Ethereum (ETH) Futures ETFs Entering the Market on October 2nd.

On a recent thread posted on social media platform X, Bloomberg ETF analyst James Seyffart highlights the impending launch of nine distinct ETH-based futures ETFs scheduled for Monday. Seyffart anticipates a dynamic day ahead and identifies the financial firms preparing to introduce Ethereum futures ETFs, which include VanEck, Bitwise, Proshares, Vol Shares, Hashdex, and Valkyrie.

"The analyst further notes that other firms interested in launching Ethereum ETFs, such as Grayscale, have not yet submitted updated filings and are unlikely to do so. Seyffart suggests that it is probable that Direxion, Roundhill, and Grayscale may choose not to pursue this avenue.

Seyffart speculates that the early launch of these ETFs may be driven by concerns over a potential government shutdown.

Last month, global investment manager VanEck announced its plans to introduce an ETH futures ETF, emphasizing that the fund would not invest directly in Ethereum but rather in standardized, cash-settled ETH futures contracts traded on registered commodity exchanges. VanEck stated that the fund, to be listed on the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE), would exclusively focus on ETH futures traded on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME).

In September, VanEck also stated that they anticipate the fund's effectiveness to occur either on October 3, 2023, or when the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) expedites the effectiveness of the registration statement."
